  • How spicy is your sauce?
Generally speaking, our goal is to provide sauce a little spicier than what you'd find in local grocery stores. We love spice, but we aren't extremists by any means. Most people will feel the kick from our sauce (especially if tasted on its own without any food), but will still get a lot of flavor coming through. Ingredients and spice levels for individual flavors will be listed in the shop!
  • How is hot sauce made?
While there are several methods, the one that works best for us is as follows: 1. Prep ingredients by washing and cutting into smaller pieces. 2. Blend produce in a food processor. Some ingredients are roasted prior to this. 3. Combine blended produce with vinegar and salt, and cook on stovetop. 4. Once cooked well enough to bring out flavors, blend again to get better consistency. 5. Strain the sauce to remove extra solids and get the right thickness. 6. Boil our bottles for sanitation, then bottle up the sauce! Typically, one batch will make enough sauce for 12-14 5 ounce bottles.
  • Why moths?
Moths are truly beatiful creatures that often get overlooked for their more exotic cousins, butterflies. We hoped to bring attention to some of the unique members of the moth family. There's also tons of great symbolism between moths and people who love spice. We're drawn to spice the same way moths are drawn to light, and we hope you will join us on that journey.
  • How long will the sauce remain fresh and is it shelf stable?
This will depend on the flavor, but most of our flavors utilize vinegar, salt, and citrus juice to add depth, but also to make the sauce long lasting. Each bottle will remain fresh for about 6 months, and likely even longer if refrigerated.
  • Can I sell your sauce in my store?
Absolutely! One of the goals of most people who make small batch products is to get more exposure locally and develop relationships with other small business owners. If you are interested in offering our products in your store, please send us an email and we will discuss the logistics of doing so.
